A new CMS has been released called Aerial CMS. It utilizes two powerful open-source frameworks namely AMFPHP 1.9 and Doctrine 1.2. It allows you to rapidly scaffold your Rich Internet Applications by generating database tables, PHP/ActionScript models and PHP/ActionScript services.

You can check it out at its Google Code page

Latest important couple of features are Go To Definition and Back. Move the cursor inside any identifier defined in your project and press F4 to go to the place where your symbol is defined. It might be a class, a field, parameter or a local var of any enclosing closure. Then press Shift+F4 to return to the place you were before. I know, that’s very very useful!

Also, now you can customize the keyboard shortcuts, finally.

The Silex team members have decided to formalize theire cooperation by creating a non profit organization for the promotion, support and the development of Open Source software.

The goal is to promote our projects and the Open Source Flash related projects, nationally and internationally. We are an official training center with a state accreditation, and the maintainer for Silex and amfPhp projects.

I’m pleased to announce that the first release candidate for Spring ActionScript 1.0 is now available. Spring ActionScript is an offshoot of the Java-based Spring Framework written in ActionScript 3. It is targeted for the Flash, Flex and AIR platforms. The framework contains an Inversion of Control Container, APIs for building tailored MVC architectures, extensions for the Cairngorm and PureMVC frameworks and several other utilities.

After nearly two years of dormancy, the AMFPHP project has been revived. Ariel Sommeria-klein and Danny Kopping have taken over the project and active development is now taking place. The latest version (1.9) can be found at the project's SourceForge page and version 2.0 is on the way!
