[Flashr] Changes on flickr - update your applications

Hi all,

Flickr have just announced a change in how the Flickr API is accessed:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/yws-flickr/message/2034

Basically the place where API calls connect to has changed. This has a
big impact on all flash applications connecting to flickr because the
removal of the crossdomain.xml file from flickr.com will stop all
existing applications from working!

I've patched Flashr to avoid this problem:
https://mirror1.cvsdude.com/trac/osflash/flashr/changeset/54

As you can see, the changes are very simple, but unfortunately you will
either need to download the latest version of Flashr from subversion or
make the changes you see in the page linked above and re-export your
applications for them to continue working. As you can see, I made the
changes both to the 0.4 version and 0.5 version of Flashr - you'll only
have to update one file, the one corresponding to the version of Flashr
you are using.

I've contacted Flickr asking them to rethink this change which will
break every flash application that connects to flickr but I'm not
holding my breath on a change of heart from their side.

On a brighter note, this will hopefully speed up the official release of
0.5 - it is basically ready to go but I've been waiting until I had a
little site ready for it - I'll try and get that done ASAP!

Cheers,

Kelvin :)
