Yes, I can help. Sorry for the late reply but I just got back from
FITC and am trying to catch up with the emails.

Basically Red 0.4 requires Java 5 (or Java 1.5) in order to compile
and run. Try upgrading your JDK and setting you $JAVA_HOME to 1.5 and
it should work for you.

In the future you may want to consder sending questions like this to
the Red5 list, as you will more than likely get a quicker response
there.
