[osflash] Should we make donations to revive ASDT and HXDT ?

Hi,
I think part of the problem is that there is no official entity to
take in the donations and distribute them appropriately at the moment.
This is certainly something that we should consider. Once that's in
place, it will be easier to manage and hopefully a team of developers
can be put together.
Perhaps Aral has already thought of this and is working on something.
I know that we at Red5 are in the process of putting together a
foundation to protect our code and to help with expenses and other
financial considerations.
I would be glad to help organize a more general Open Source Flash
Foundation once I'm done with my wedding and honeymoon next month, oh
and with setting up Red5's foundation.
In terms of which one to work on, HXDT or ASDT, well why not both? It
could certainly be considered one project. They will both share many
things in common considering that they are built on top of Eclipse.
Maybe we could call it OSFDT, Open Source Flash Development Tool. It
would really be cool to have one editor that supported AS2, AS3 and
haXe.
Finding people to work on the project is another thing altogether
though, and I unfortumately am over-commited with other stuff. I'm not
sure donations are going to do it by itself either.
Thoughts, comments and suggestions?
