Caringorm is to Flex2 what Struts is to JSP.

Struts is an MVC frame work that sits on top of Java/JSP, and likewise
Caringorm is an MVC framework that is built in AS3 and runs within the
Flex2 framework.

If we are still trying comparisons with Flex2 and Java, I would say
another good analogy would be that MXML is to AS3 what JSP is to Java.
Both are mark up languages and get compiled down to AS3 or Java
classes respectively.

I hope that helps and just doesn't create confusion.
