I agree with what ralf said, but I dont remember you saying anything
about the eclipse environment one way or another. I do think that the
macromedia's eclipse environment is quite good as Ralf said. For me
the errors messages that it gave in porting to AS3 and the API helpers
were incredibly valuable in helping me get really comfortable in flex
in less than a week. I am not an expert yet, but I became very
competent in a week. You are a good flash programmer, so your learning
curve should be similar, I would think. It is true I was already
comfortable with eclipse, but if my memory is accurate, I became
comfortable in Eclipse in about a week too.
Haxe is very cool and I do intend to use it, but for me, right now
flex is the best user interface framework and I dont think (but am not
sure) that there will be a way to do haxe with flex. I am sure that
today it is not possible.
Good luck. You have done very impresive work with casting office. I
actually looked at it for some inspiraton around user interface. It is
very well done indeed.
