[osflash] new to red5, flash and media serving

I have been a Java developer for 10.5 years and I am now trying to embark
upon a project where I will manage audio and video files and other misc
content and news through a J2EE JBoss server and MySql database.

I am missing how red5, flash and media streaming in general fits into this.
Can someone point me to a whitepaper or something that will tell me
arhcitecturally how this should fit together?
