Yup! I also found the same. I think, coming version of Flash Player 8.5 
would have this fix, my gut feeling :)

That's why I stopped working on that socket hack....

BTW! Good work, it is really nice written. I can see, if Flickr adds 
more methods or any service..Flickr AS3 API is easy to extend...
