I have to repectfully disagree here.
Adobe was *very* helpful with the FC64 project (hosted on OSFlash) in
the past, and we didn't even need to ask.
One of a few examples:

(plus they are open about stuff they are working on which is not even
publicly announced yet. nudge nudge.)
Of course, i would guess this is only the case for projects that do not
potentially pose a direct threat to their products, as I remember
talking to Adobe officials in person about DENG, where i was told that
DENG is a potential threat (to Flex), which i understand in a way, but
which i find a bit shortsighted nevertheless. (Sorry about the long
sentence. I'm german).
