I've just ordered my MacBook Pro this week -- my old Acer was getting
incredibly hot, running up to 80°C and higher. Unplugged it'd shut down
after just a few minutes caused by the heat issue. The MacBook Pro's do
get hot, I've had a chance to compare newer models with one of a few
months back and there is a noticeable improvement.
Even so, the heat doesn't seem to affect performance on the MBP unlike
my old Acer. Have had my hands on some very hot MBP's and unless you're
wearing shorts its not extremely uncomfortable IMHO.
More than likely opting for Parallels over Bootcamp, I like to switch
around between PC and Mac quite regularly so can't imagine myself
constantly rebooting. One thing I'm not quite sure about yet is whether
I'll go with Thunderbird on Mac or stick with Mail. Does anyone know of
any easy way to move Thunderbird email over to Mail?
At the moment most of my software would run in Win XP with Parallels
(Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flex Builder) until there are universal
builds and I get Mac licenses sorted. Shame I have to buy another
license for Win XP Pro, the ones I've got are all OEM.
