[osflash] Am I overlooking any crucial tools?

@ martin: So you got ASDT working with ecplipse on ubuntu? Perhaps I should have a bash at this again... how good is the AS code completion? (This is the aspect that I am most missing in scite). Does it work with AS3 or only with AS2? The tutorials seem to be AS2 focused...

@ Ian: thanks for clearing that up. So apart from flex 3 SDK compiler, there are no other As3 compilers out there? In that case I hope the installation of flex 3 SDK on ubuntu 64bit works without major problems...

moving the topic slightly to the side, I noticed some of you said you are using 
make, I was wondering what other build tools people use (and why) ?

These days I use rake for my build and deployment

I actually just use the eclipse / ASDT automatic build during development but 
when I deploy to a server (using rsync over ssh) the build script re-compiles 
the swfs with the '-trace no' option.

What I like about rake is although it has a nice DSL for tasks and related 
activities any time i need to do something slightly more involved you can just 
write some code.

btw, I use Ubuntu 8.04, Eclipse 3.4 and ASDT.

The startup time of Eclipse doesnt bother me because I only open it once a day, 
and for me the real win with Eclipse is the combination of SVN, Trac and Mylyn.

I also write code in PHP, Python, Ruby and Java so having it all in the same 
editor makes my life a lot easier.
