I emailed yesterday asking for help with Sketchup->dae importing. After tickering around for a while, I found out that Sketchup includes <geometry> that only has <lines> but no <triangles>. This causes the Papervision Collada object to bomb.
I manually removed the <geometry> nodes that didn't have <triangles> and Papervision did great. I previously created a highly detailed map of our school's campus using Sketchup (see http://www.dts.edu/students/ and click on a building) and I'm attempting to create a new low-poly, interactive map using Papervision. Here's a mockup http://www.dts.edu/demo/papervision3d/campus02/ (the mouse controls are terrible, sorry! you can press 'g' to toggle the ground).
Hopefully, I'll be able to build a timeline of when the buildings were built and what's coming in the future...g
