[Papervision3D] Problems while texturing a simple Sphere

Hello again guys,

I was trying to have a simple world in 3D and I was using a texture
like this one:

I don't know who did the sphere primitive that goes with
papervision3d, but I guess it doesn't use a cylindrical UVmap, does
it? My world in 3D looks like this:

So, as I wasn't able to control the UVmap, I decided to do a geosphere
with 3dsmax and apply the UVmap there, and then export to ASE.

This is how the north pole (the area that usually has more problems)
looks in MAX:

But when exporting to ASE and trying it with PV3D (it also happens
with Collada) it looks like this:

Did anybody had this problem before? Am I missing something?
