[Papervision3D] how to leave a movement trail

when using bullets in games, it is nice to be able to leave a trail behind
the shot, then use hit test on the trail... that way a bullet will not skip
from in front to behind an object without hitting it.
so does anyone know of a simple way to do this? I thought about using
line3D, however I doubt that it would work with a hit test. does anyone
