[Papervision3D] Faulty shading and smoothing in PV3D

I have found when exporting meshes from 3DSMax v9 using Feelings ColladaMax
exporter plugin v3.05A, co-planar faces gets bad shading when imported to
PV3D v 2.0. It´s noticeable when using Phong- or Gouraud shading. The DAE
parser was used.
Smoothing groups are also ignored, and the renderer seems to smooth between
all faces.
All meshes on the pictures below are from 3DS MAX primitives just to avoid
possible faulty mesh editing. No editing is done to the meshes.
Here are two pictures showing this; the first one shows a cylinder with some
co-planar capping segments on the flat ends - shading gets "black".
The other picture is the exact same cylinder, but here those caping segments
are a bit distorted by a noise modifier in Max, and no longer co-planar -
shading is ok.
Also notice that the original mesh in Max has no smoothing between the
capping parts and the round part of the cylinder, where as the imported mesh
shows smoothing everywhere.

Here are another couple of pictures. The only difference between those two
meshes is that the one with the "black shading cross" has more segments,
making more faces co-planar.
