[Papervision3D] R: R: Blender groups in papervision

To sum up my situation:

- I have 3 different scenes

- each scenes has a lot of objects (from 100 to nearly 200) (yes, performances are fine until now)

- some objects are “fixed” between scenes (same name) but the majority of them may vary in name, quantity, position, size etc

Now, I want to create 3 o 4 fixed groups of these “variable” objects, so I can control them individually and stop to worry about their inner variations.

Obviously I can’t group them at runtime due to the situation, so I’ve to find a way to export a dae with grouped objects :\

Ps: KMZ keeps both model and textures in one single file so it’s pretty fast to load and create the whole model. I know it’s just a dae file renamed, but it’s parser it’s pretty handy to use. Don’t know If I can (easily) do the same just by zipping a dae.

If you have to use Blender and you want to group parts, so you can control them in PV. just add them to a DO3D and control that DO3D.
Also why use sketchup, just zip the dae.

Yeah I tried to export from blender to 3ds than import to Sketchup and
export again to KMZ (wich is a nice and compressed format) but I had some
problem with materials.
Also it seems that Sketchup creates more groups than what's needed, and
that's bad for me.

I build in Cinema 4d and import 3ds into Blender to export as dae. Groups
(with children and parents) don't appear to work. I exported to Blender as
an .obj with a little more success, but still no grouping. Not sure what the
work around is? Sketch Up seemed to handle things a little better, however I
don't have a full copy of that with the Collada export function.
