[Papervision3D] - question about using multiple materials on cylinder primitives

Knowing that the Cylinder primitive, unlike the Cube primitive, does not support multiple materials assigned by face (in other words, one material for the top or bottom face and another for the 'body'), I was able to accomplish what I was trying to do by setting topFace and bottomFace to 'null', and then creating and attaching two skinny child Cylinders of the same radius, each with the desired face material.
Anyone have a different method? I would have thought that this would be part of the parameters already though. Is it possible that it's upcoming, or that someone else has already modified the class on their own? I'm considering doing it myself, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel.
Presumably since Cube is already assigning materials based on the face, this functionality shouldn't be all that tough. Hopefully?
