[Papervision3D] collada vs. *.3DS file format PERFORMANCE ???

I export my models to .3ds and Collada using Cinema4d.  The C4d file has
481KB.
After export, collada model has 71KB and the .3ds has 25KB.
But, when I'm loading this models in pv3d, collada is faster.
