[Papervision3D] My first PV3D site WIP

Cheers. The animation is done by tweening the rotational values of display objects using 'Tweener'. The display objects contain other display objects, which contain DAE models for each limb. So it was just a matter of ordering them into groups to create forward kinematic joints.

Nice one! What did you use for the animation?

Its pretty cool. Since you don't have a preloader at the moment, you get an unintended effect of the robot assembling itself piece-by-piece in the span of about 1 second. I found that to be a very cool effect, and you should try to mimic it in your end product.

Its very simple but very cool.

Hey folks

I've got a WIP of my new PV3D website online, you can see it here:

http://flashvillage.com/webdesigner/PV3D_Upload/index.html

There's no preloader yet, no music, and most textures are just place

holders, including the floor shadow. Oh and just pretend those ugly controls

in the top left are not there.

Click the robot to make him dance (tween to a new randomly generated pose,

using tweener). Eventually I'll make it so that each key on the keyboard

will be a different dance pose and a user can tap the keyboard in time to

the beat to make him dance.

Not sure if its fixable/noticeable but I've had alot of trouble with

polygons vanishing, especially on the arms of the robot. The limbs of the

robot are separate DAE files and the models are fairly detailed, is it the

nature of the beast? Or is there a way to fix those vanishing polys?

Cheers

Simon
