[Papervision3D] Polygon weirdness when rendering

yes - i would completely seperate teh backdrop mesh from the letters  
(since it looks like it is all one mesh from the output).  Then you  
can give the individual children layers:

viewport.getChildLayer(dae.getChildByName("backgroundMesh")); etc...
