Sebs already given the answer.

Just as an example.
Your smileys UV data is -1 to 0.
DAE.as sets bitmapMaterials to tiled, so thats why you see it when you dont
have shaders.

Just as a test set

material.tiled = false;

and run your dae without the shaders

Thats what the shaders have to play with.
