[Red5] Macromedia just lost a customer

I've had it with Macromedia's marketing arm. The pricing scheme for the
new Flash Media Server has shut me out. My professional license for FCS
1.0 allows me 2500 simultaneous connections, while the same-priced
professional version of FMS 2 will only give me 100 connections. If I
want to get a 5,000 connection version, it will cost me ten times that
amount!

I use FCS for audio capture and storage for language-learning purposes,
not for streaming huge video files. Apparently, Macromedia has decided
to chase after a different market, leaving me behind.

I am delighted that the Red5 project exists, and I want to contribute
to its development. I'm not a java programmer, so I don't think that I
can contribute my talents. However, I am willing to contribute
logistically and financially. I can provide server space and bandwidth
through my university department, and I can also pledge modest
financial support. It will be very worth my while to support a project
that can save me from spending $45,000 on server software that only
cost me $4,500 the first time around.

Thank you, Red5 project people - you're going to be a lifesaver!!!
