hehe..

anyway to add some options to the discussion, i've recently been reading
about this

http://www.db4o.com/about/productinformation/

a quick summary

db4o is the open source object database that enables Java and .NET
developers to slash development time and costs and achieve unprecedented
levels of performance. The unique design of db4o's native object
database engine makes it the ideal choice to be embedded in mobile
devices, in packaged software or in real-time control systems.

There are downsides to the whole non-sql based persistence style, and
maybe its too soon to be considering this approach to persistence
(judging from the comments provided in this article :
http://www.theserverside.com/news/thread.tss?thread_id=33808 )

but its always worth knowing about the full spectrum of options.

thanks,

Martin
