[Red5] Connecting flash client to phones with RED5?

We are currently working on a communication platform for people with mental
and visual handicaps. We build a very nice voice and videomail system with
FCS. We need the stable flash client for our unique GUI. But the costs for
FCS are very high to scale up to a lot of users. So we are very exiting
about the developments with RED5. 

What we would like to know. Are there posibilities, now or in the future to
convert streams. We would like to be able to get a phone connection over a
flash client. In the future we would also like to connect
(mobile/gsm/umts/pots) videophone's to the clients.

Our partner in this development is working with astrix for phone call
handling. Any options, now or in the future. Or do you have suggestions
where i could find more information about these kind of connections?
