[Red5] recording a video

hey guys:

i recorded  a test video with red5 messageRecorder demo
is there a way to change... the codec for the recording?
i recorded like 15 seconds and the file is about 612mb filesize... thats 
a bit tooo much ;)

do i have to reencode it with for example: ffmpeg?
maybe there is an option to record in smaller filesize allready build in?!
