it tries to download "something", I use FF so it appears that I was
unaffected.

I don't know if it was a coincidence, but here's how and when it locked
up for me.  I was chatting without any problems for a few minutes.  Then
I launched everyones video window.  Only one of them had video, the
others didn't have cameras.  I could hear audio too.  Then I tried to
send a chat message.  The instant I pushed send, the video locked up.
