[Red5] Can red5 be a replacement for WebX ?

I like the way that you can share an application over WebX.

Is there a way to capture my desktop as a flv stream, then send that
stream to a red5 server so that anyone who hits a web page can see my
desktop ?

If I were to attempt such a thing, should I try and hack vnc2swf for a
screen recorder ? Would red5 require any changes to make something
like this work ?
