[Red5] Problem running Red5 as a background process

I have installed Red5 0.6.3 on a Fedora 6 server.

I installed the Sun Java 13 release and defined JAVA_HOME and ANT_HOME.

Running "ant server" as a foreground process compiles Red5 and starts
the server. I can access the various demo apps and everything works
(well some audio recording problems in the Publish demo, but that's a
different issue).

When I try running "ant server &" as a background process it gets to the
"server" section and dies.

There are two java processes left running but I cannot access the Red5
demo apps or the web server running on 5080.

I've tried killing the Java processes and starting over, but I
consistently see the same problem - "ant server" works but "ant server
&" does not.

I have tried running red5.sh but it dies immediately as the $CLASSPATH
variable is not set and it cannot find various Java files.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
