Sergey,
If you are using Netstream and ns.addEventListener(
NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, netStatusHandler ),
then I suppose your could invoke your method at
case "NetStream.Pause.Notify":
To send a messag to the server that the user is pausing
case NetStream.Unpause.Notify
When the user has returned.
