[Red5] Multiple Streams from one Cam

Hi everybody,

It's been a while since i played around with red5, so i'm not sure how to go
about this. Would be nice if someone could answer my questions.

i already implemented a video recorder application for red5 with serverside
authentication, so i'm not all that new, just a bit out of prectise.

I'm planing on a videochat. it should feature a group chat in which i can
see like up to 9 streams as live thumbnails and choose one to see in better
quality.

I wonder how to approach this. Is it possible to send two streams from the
same Cam, so i could send a high quality 640x480x15fps stream and a
64x48x0.5fps thumbnail stream to the server, or is it possible to create the
thumbnail stream on the fly in red5? Propably not, because of the resizing.
Would it be possible if i didn't need to resize, but just throw frames away?

Any other ideas?
