Subject: [Red5] using red5 to stream live audio
We run an audio-only Internet radio station and wish to use Red5 to stream
our audio for flash players. I have Red5 0.6.3 installed and working
flawlessly. I see it is no problem to stream an mp3 file. But what I need to
stream via red5/rmtp is an already-existing mp3
(shoutcast/icecast) stream. I can easily change the stream to raw audio but
what I cannot do is get the audio live off a microphone or webcam, since the
audio is captured on one computer but needs to be streamed by another
computer (located where there is higher bandwidth).
I am hoping there might be a simple solution where I can pipe the audio,
either raw or mp3-encoded to the oflademo server somehow. I don't have flash
development tools and don't know flash so I am hoping to find something
pre-existing to help me.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give.
-John
