[Red5] Can't Get Red5 Tutorial 4 to work as they do

Hello guys,

I'm working through the Red5  ("Red5 Flash Media Server") tutorials here http://www.flashextensions.com/tutorials.php

I'm looking at tutorial 4, "Running Sample Applications".     Here is the problem, I've noticed that he just double clicks a swf application (the BallControl.swf demo), which runs the flash player and can connect to the rtmp local host from that.   My flash player launches, but I can't make the connection work.   It throws an error.  Rather, I have to run the swf file through the Red5 demos page http://localhost:5080/demos/ .

Then when I try the next tutorial ("Running The Sample Applications from a Remote Server") I can't get it working at all, i.e. trying to connect remotely.

There are a few differences, such as the fact that my OS is Vista, and they are using Win XP, and I'm using Flash 9,. not 8, and I have a later build of Red5, 0.7.

Any ideas?
