[Red5] Logging

I've been trying to get log statements to show up in my log file but not luck.
I followed this guide to the tee...

My log file get's created, but no log statements get to the log file.

I do notice this in the red5 log just after my logger get's setup...
[WARN] [main] org.apache.catalina.core.NamingContextListener - Failed
to register in JMX: javax.naming.NamingException: Could not create
resource factory instance [Root exception is
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.BasicDataSourceFactory]
Context init...

any ideas?
