[Red5devs] custom webapp breaks on OSX

greetings, I am a web/flash/flex/etc. developer just getting into red5...
never used Java before... so far I love it!

I also have a problem...and have tried my very best to solve it on my own ;(

My goal is (simply) to combine the functionality of fitcDemo (live stream
management) with oflaDemo (getListOfAvailableFLVs)... basically so I can
record streams and then get a list of them.

Anyway... all is going very well... I have watched a bunch of video
tutorials, duplicated fitcDemo to make my own custom application, imported
the DemoServices class from oflaDemo... compiled, added to red5.jar and
everything works great as a Windows service!

(Locally of course)

my problem:

my live red5 server is on an xserve running osx server. I figured
Java-is-Java so I copied the Windows red5.jar over, and I get an "exception
in thread 'main'"...

not to be deterred, I imported just my class files into the original osx
red5.jar and all seemed well... I could connect to my custom application
fine, and I even get a call back from getListOfAvailableFLVs()....

the problem is, the list returns null...and the server gives an error
message along the lines of "ServiceInvoker.invoke: service not found:
demoService".

so, is this a local/remote issue? Or a osx/windows issue?

Any ideas?

I am building with java 1.6 on eclipse 3.3 with apache ant server... and
serving with red5 0.6.2 on osx server 10.4

is there any other information I should provide?

would be grateful for anyone's help,

d
