[Red5devs] RTP/H.264 to Flash

I'm new to this mailing list but figured you guys were the experts on
Flash media. We currently have SIP endpoints that broadcast real-time
audio (G.711) and video (H.264). We'd like Flash clients to be able to
'listen' to these broadcasts, in addition to our SIP-based endpoints.
These are one-way streams. I've seen a few SIP to Flash gateways, but
these handle the protocol conversion and audio only. We are looking for
an audio/video solution.
If we were going to build a video gateway, would there have to be any
transcoding of the video? Video would be coming into the gateway in
H.264/RTP packets. Is it just a matter of stripping the RTP headers and
then creating a Flash formatted packet with the encoded video? Or is it
more complicated? I'm not very familiar with the Flash file format for
H.264 video.
Is this a capability that is planned for Red5, or is this outside the
scope of the project?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Michael
