Armand,
Some great work you have done there. I was wondering if you were going to
wait for some other design suggestions ( I don't know what is the final
deadline). Also have you guys decided what technology is going to be used
(PHP/mySQL/CF/WordPress)?
Let us know.
Helmut.

Subject: [screenweaver] SWOS site look&feel
Hello all,
Eric kindly asked me to go through the list with the site... I must admit I
am a little nervous about this -- open-source design process. I know that no
design can make everyone happy and I also know that going to the lowest
common denominator is not an option either. Anyway, I don't have a big ego,
so I'm open to suggestions.
Some points:
I've started the design based just on the SW logo, that I thibk we should
keep as this distinctive. Based on that I've decided to keep the same shades
of blue, the rounded style and the "glass" effect. About the only thing I've
changed was the text beside the logo "SCREENWEAVER - Rich Desktop
Applications", we can change the tagline if you have a better idea. I've
used red for the text to add some contrast. I've tried several fonts for the
text, my coworkers have said this one looks best. In the background, I've
used again the "weave" pattern, I hope you like the picture.
The homepage can have a flash animation to promote the products and its
features, as well as some other content.
Below there are two look&feel designs for you to get an idea:

The next step is for me to build the XHTML/CSS so it will be easy to style
and maintain. I'll also make a stylesheet for print.
If we can agree on the look&feel, I can start coding the html. I know I
could start doing it now since we can always change the layout later, but I
prefer to stay focused on one thing.
Armand
