[swfmill] problems with fonts on linux

Hi

I try to use swfmill on linux, but I have font problems.
A default font is shown and not the one I embedded with <font  
id="..." import="..." glyphs....

When I use the precompiled package for mac os x everything works fine.
I tried different versions (svn trunk, 0.2.12, 0.2.12.4, 0.2.7.11)  
under debian etch and ubuntu 7.1 and installed them
in /usr/local.

There aren't any compile errors and the swfmill conversion doesn't  
show any warnings or errors.
I have no clue what it could be... I googled and looked at the mail  
archive but couldn't find anything related.

Does anybody has/had the same problem?
Any help is welcome
