Maybe using <definefont3> will solve the following problem?

http://bloghain.de/phazer/swfmill_vs_flash.jpg

see the differences in datasize and in the advanced table..

We batch converting ttfs to swf to manage screen layout and *.t1a to use in
pdf.... and the screen is so much different from the pdf result...

That's great news!
At least, decompiling and recompiling from xml. DefineFont3 seems to be not
big difference from DefineFont2, the big problem is the new tag,
DefineFontAlignZones. Or maybe not that big...
And I guess, correct me if i'm wrong, the current last build dumps the swf
tag DefineFontAlignZones as <DefineFontInfo3 />, but that's not correct.

The only tools I found able to work with embeded glyphs are JSwiff and of
course Flex, both Java based. But i need something faster.

Maybe some help for you can be JSwiff (open source) project. They seem to be

just a bit more advanced with player8 tags, but no ttf importer at all.

Regards,
Victor
