[swfmill] kerning - screen and print are different

Hey guys,

 

we are using swfmill to generate font libraries for flash to use em on the
screen.

Php calls swfmill and generates these libs.

works fine so far BUT if we use the same ttf files in pdf documents we get
kerning differences.
layout on the screen is different than the layout in the pdf files.

these pdf files get generated by some xml files which are used to generate
our flash content on the screen.

strange thing is if we use the same ttf files and generate ttf libs directly
in the flash ide(embedding them by hand) then it works just fine.

seems like swfmill is using another method to embed the fonts than flash ide
is? 

any idea on how to solve this or ever heard about this problem before?

any ideas or suggestions are welcome
