Hi list!
I came up with a bug while placing a quite complex SWF with swfmill's simple
option yesterday... The output was completely damaged and it took me quite a
while to find out where the trouble was coming from.
Luckily, I think I got it. I'm not sure if what I found is the only source
of trouble but at least, it's one.
Nota bene: Every file I will mention here is available at
http://toki-woki.net/swfmill-debug/shape-tween/
It appears that when you have a shape tween in a SWF, and you import and
place that SWF via a simple XML file, and the version attribute of the movie
(root) tag is 8, you get in trouble!
Using 6 or 7 seems OK.
To illustrate this I made up a tween-6.swf (I also put the FLAs online) with
a simple shape tween and a circle on the stage.
A simple-6.xml calling both tween-6.swf and a SWF called stamp.swf
containing a textfield.
The output is out-6.swf which you can run to test.
The command to build this was: <swfmill simple simple-6.xml out-6.swf> and
it didn't ouput any warning or error.
Just to let you know, I'm running swfmill 0.2.12.6
I did the exact same thing for Flash Player 7 and 8.
As you'll notice, out-8.swf isn't working and the circle is not rendered...
I think I said everything, if not don't hesitate to ask.
I hope someone can fix this!
Quentin.
