[swx] Roadmap questions & suggestions

I would like to mention that the latest FluorineFx update (v1.0.0.8) also
supports swx rpc (.NET)

I guess this does make a point. It's a generous gesture to hand over a
service and it would be interesting to see the basic list of swx services
expand a little. 

However there's probably room for different development directions to focus
on, 
1. One to develop the swx api and keep it up-to-date (updates for as2
version, and building an as3 version would be important), 
2. one to work on rpcs (updates to swx php rpc, rpcs for additional
languages (.NET? CF?) ),
3. and one to expand the samples services. 

I've personaly found that I always needed fairly custom services and didn't
rely much on the existing ones (though the xml service is really quite nice)
so i'd be more up for working on directions 1 & 2. 

Are other people on this list interested to work on any of this?

The svn option looks like a nice one but the truth is it is, even after 

multiple emails about updated services, not updated so i for one am 

about to stop seeing it as a potential option. This is where swx would

For example worked hard a while back to get Pownce API complete. Then 

putted in svn, emailed about the updates, emailed again about the 

updates, and today there still is no Pownce api on the public gateway.

Same for the two times call for this same discussion. Were to go, what 

should we do, what can we do, how will we organize this into a working 

setup etc etc..



SWX is great in it's usage, public services offer and ease of usage. But 

then those 'default' updates and new services should be online in matter 

of minutes instead of simply NOT ;)



As long as we talk about this stuff it's great but only talk will not 

change a thing.



Not to be ugly or anything here just how it goes in practicum at the moment.



discuss points are (i think)



--public gateway

--as3 version SWX

--versioning for the public services

--leading the project

--pr (as in make some noice like the noise we had last year ;))

--who is who and who can do what, and why is that not happening :D

All the swx code seems nicely organised in OO style (Validate class, 

Services_JSON class, SwxAssembler class, etc) but swx.php isn't as clean.

I personally don't mind as long as it work but I have been using 

CodeIgniter a lot in my SWX request and the latest version of CI (1.6) 

break the swx calls because it unsets all the globals when executed.



After searching, I know I can override CI's behaviour by overloading its 

input class but I feel like I'm making something good like CI less good 

by doing so where I'd prefer to make something good like swx better.



Can this "globals" issue be taken in consideration for future developments?



Also, is there still plans for an AS3 version?
