[WiiFlash] Trying to get the WiiFlash server to work on other bluetooth drivers

Hi Joa and Thibault (and the rest of the mailing
list),

I'm currently working with some students as part of
the Singapore-MIT Gambit game lab
(http://gambit.mit.edu/) to develop a WiiFlash based
game. We've been encountering a lot of problems in
terms of the wiimote not communicating properly with
various different drivers. For example, WiiFlash (and
GlovePIE and Wiinremote) work fine on a Toshiba and an
HP laptop, but on an IBM laptop, and on a Mac Book Pro
using Bootcamp, we seem to be able to get GlovePIE and
Wiinremote to send data to the wiimote (ie. make it
rumble and control the LEDs), but we can't get data
back from the wiimote, and the wiiflash server doesn't
detect the wiimote at all. I'm pretty sure the problem
is with the drivers, not the hardware, as I managed to
boot the Mac to OS X and use DarwiinRemote.

So what I'm wondering is whether any of you have any
insight into what it is in the various different
driver implementations that causes the wiimote to work
or not work? Is there any way to detect which driver
is installed, and then work around the peculiarities
of the driver implementation?

Once you release the server source code, I'd be happy
to have a look at the code and contribute back any
fixes that widen the range of drivers that work with
wiiflash.

thanks,
Alex
