flashDance CMS is a flash Content Management System framework and application to build and mantain flash web sites and flash offline projects.

* What does it do?

It provides developers an extendable api and tools to generate a customized web site or flash presentation with a built in and also customizable Content management system. And end users a fairly easy way to build / maintain their site.

Main features are:

• drag and dropp WYSIWYG content page Editor (will export CSS styled XHTML soon)
• VideoPlayer plugin (Audio Player on the works)
• Photo gallery CMS (Saves comments on Exif data and generates custom thumbs)
• Core engine api to build and structure navigation
• lots of PHP backEnd scripts to autogenerate file lists and else
• User management
• Multilingual site administration
• Browser integration with SWFAddres
• Plugin architechture to customize and extend the whole CMS
• custom lightweight components without dependancies
• ASAP framework‘s notificationCenter provides easy event management and flexible application architecture

Main drawback is it’s built upon AS2 and some AS1 code, and it’s partially based on the flash IDE. For next release the whole project will be working AS2 from KagSwf or ASDT to run on linux platforms, and on a complete Open Source environment.

Requirements: Web sites deployed with flashDance CMS need a server with PHP, and MySQL if you want to implement the built in user management. For offline flash projects you may want to use a local server to build, but it wont be necessary on runtime.

We planned to build a compatibility layer to make flashDance CMS work with AS3 projects, and actually we think the core presentation layer is simple enough to be translated to AS3 without too much trouble, but we would need suggestions and help with this.
