- We had the new Video Chat demo up and running for most of the day on Joachim’s server. Many people stopped by to say hi and all in all, it’s coming along VERY well!
(4.2.2006)
- http://www.flashvid.de - check it out, 34mb flv being streamed using Red5 on flashvid.de’s blog. Nice looking player, and it played great the entire length. Very nice!
(3.31.2006)
- Well, the bass player didn’t show, but I went ahead and broadcast my rehearsal time with Rush’s Subdivisions. We’ll be playing it at the Plant City bike night on April 1st, so if you’re in the Florida/Tampa area, come on out, show starts at 5.30pm EST ;)
(3.30.2006)
- Check out Flavio’s video conference app! Very nice works well! Thanks to Flavio adding audio, I realized he could hear my drums...and well, then we did the drum demo on the next day ;)
(3.30.2006)
- Joachim and John doing video conference ;) We’re gearing up for version 0.4 and having some fun with the latest updates and fixes to the video streaming. NICE WORK EVERYONE!! This was a great example of a potential use of Red5 - rather than having a single server dealing with both of our broadcasts, he and I both had Red5 running localy, and we just subscribed to eachothers servers ;)
(3.17.2006)
- Eight Media has put out a live stream using the Red5 server (svn trunk) and it looks awesome!!! These guys are in Holland, I’m in Florida - YIKES this is super cool!!Eight Media blog
(3.6.2006)

- Shared Objects are up and working with demos! I’ve posted to samples in SVN for people to use and try out. One is a simple chat and the other is the classic “ball control” demo. Check the video here
(1.11.2006)
- Chris Allen and John Grden to demo Red5 at FITC in April. If you’re around, be sure to stop by and say hey!
(1.7.2006)
- Shared Objects are working!! Look for verion .3 to be released sometime in the week of 2.14.2006. Version .4 should be right around the corner.
(11.16.2005)
- SPARK - Luke Hubbard and John Grden were able to go across the pond and demo Red5 to the Spark crowd! For the first time, we demonstrated Live Video Stream Subscriptions!! It was great meeting everyone out there - a very healthy OSFlash community is alive and well and growing rapidly - I think OSFlash had a bigger impact at Spark than MM at some points, but it was a great gathering of Flash minds to be sure ;)
(10.21.2005)
- The OFLA was a huge success today with some outstanding speakers and presentations! I’m proud to annouce that our demo of Red5 0.2 Prototype went extremely well! We were able to show streaming video and Server Side Services. Here’s a screenshot:
We also finally have our first Logo for Red5!
Big thanks to Rebecca Smith for taking our votes and entries from the logo contest and coming up with a compilation! I want to thank everyone who chipped in an idea, I think this works really well!
(10.13.2005)
- John Grden to speak at OFLA about Red5’s prototype server - http://www.osflash.org/ofla_online
(10.6.2005)

(10.5.2005)
- EchoService is working with Red5. We’re able to send objects to Red5 and get them back in tact - Good times!
(9.29.2005)
- Well, we’ve got our repository updated and a great Wink demo by Grant Davies demonstrating how to hook up to the repository and actually start the Red5 server. I’ve included the link to the SWF UI we’re using for testing. VERY cool times ;)
(9.29.2005)
- “Having the green light is a big step” - A quote from Luke Hubbard after successfully creating a netConnection with the Red5 server today ;)
(9.25.2005)
