Started getting into Flash, circa April 2005, while trying to develop a solution for using webcams and microphones with an Internet application. While doing this, quickly discovered MTASC (and joined the mailing list circa May 2005) and that there was a growing amount of Flash Open Source software out there. Was there when OSFlash was being born on the MTASC Mailing List.
Out of frustraction that you could not do anything useful with the webcam (or camera) and microphone, with Flash, unless you had Macromedia’s Flash Communication Server, started researching writing an Open Source alternative to it. Particularly, pertaining to the RTMP parts of it.

OSFlash Contributions
Below is a lists of noteworthy projects an initiatives I’m working on with the OSFlash community.
- Project RTMP - The goal of this project is to open up and make the RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol) as public as HTTP.
- AMF Spec - Writing up a detailed and easy to read spec of the AMF format.
- A Hackers Guide to Flash - Writing a document to help software engineers get the “proper” view of Flash.
